What are we currently doing?
We participate in the design and advocacy of safeguards for Latin America in regional and international diplomacy forums related to just energy transition processes and the use of critical minerals.
We promote the deployment of renewable energy and greater energy efficiency in Latin America within the context of climate and energy diplomacy.
We advocate for the phase-out of fossil fuel subsidies in climate and energy diplomacy contexts, taking into account each country’s specific circumstances.
We monitor and report on the region’s progress in meeting its commitments related to the just energy transition as outlined in the Global Stocktake.
We strengthen the coordination and advocacy of Latin American civil society organizations within regional and global networks to advance a just energy transition and elevate Global South priorities on the international agenda.
