Ecological Transitions

This program addresses the need for radical restoration of nature and our relationship with it and as a part of it, while it helps to unfold the social and economic transitions required to support sustainable and resilient livelihoods in thriving ecosystems taking into account cross-cutting issues in the social, economic, and environmental dimensions.

Some of the projects

Sustainable Latin America

Sustainable Latin America is a strategic alliance with two organizations -Ethos (Mexico) and Espacio Público (Chile)- with the objective of promoting a socially just, climate change resilient, and sustainable recovery of the region.
We develop policy recommendations and engagement strategies for a better recovery from the crisis generated by the Covid-19 pandemic, with socially just and ecologically sustainable conditions.

Colombia, gender, and climate

Together with Polis 180 think tank (Germany) we developed an in-depth analysis of the climate–gender nexus. In particular, we argue that a gender-responsive climate policy (GRCP) can foster gender equality and, in turn, that increased gender equality can lead to better climate policies. This is based on the key finding that climate policy can be a driver for gender equality and social justice. Gender equality is therefore known as a potential ‘co-benefit’ of climate policie.

Sustainable Tourism Enhancing Project – STEP

Support ecotourism and scientific tourism in the Pacific, Amazon, and Orinoco regions of Colombia as a strategy to curb deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, and biodiversity loss, all the while promoting sustainable economic development for local communities.
